The aim of Social Events is for all U3A members to be able to suggest or arrange a social event for other members to participate in, experience something new and enjoy each other's company. These events may occur on any day or evening of a week, most are local and lifts, if possible, are always offered.
The events are co-ordinated by a committee of 2 members:
- Janet King
- Wendy Douthwaite
To contact these committee members please call or text: 07586 532964 (This number does not support WhatsApp)
You can participate as little or as much as you like. Do something familiar or try something completely out of your "comfort zone". It is always worth giving something new a try and less daunting with friendly companions - especially in winter when it's not much fun going out on your own in the gloom.
With so much going on locally there's bound to be something that appeals to you. Upcoming activities are announced at the monthly meetings, in the newsletter and on the website(see below). Just put your name and contact number on the relevant list in the "Social Events" folder available at each monhly meeting and you'll be kept informed of arrangments.
*** However if subsequently you are unable to attend an event, PLEASE contact the organiser of the event or, failing that, one of the committee members.
Don’t forget that all U3A members are welcome at any of these events. Just put your name on the relevant list in the Social Events folder or contact the organiser or any of the committee members. After a very varied programme in our first two years, we look forward to many more enjoyable events. All suggestions welcome!
Note: Please do not be put off by thinking that you will need to organise something, but you may have suggestions for activities that other people may like to arrange. So just speak to one of the committee members who will be happy to give you further details: Number above.
