Founded in 1982, the u3a is an organisation that seeks to provide informal learning activities for people no longer in full-time employment. It is run entirely on a self help basis: all the committee members and group leaders are volunteers.
Cottingham u3a has over 300 members and new people are always welcome. Annual membership costs £10.00(£18.00 if you require a printed newsletter). We have a monthly meeting, which everyone is welcome to attend, and there are also over 30 interest groups for members to join. Cottingham u3a is a member of East Riding Accord. This is an informal association of several u3as in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The other members are:
